Self Study Question

Hey everyone, just a quick question. I'm going to self-study psychology this year and want to use a textbook, even though I know a lot of people say they just use a study guide like barron's. For my textbook, I want to use a David Myers book as they seem to be the best. I don't want to spend too much money, though, so do you think it would be okay if I used a used an 8th edition from 2006 instead of the new 9th edition of Psychology from 2010? I'll still use Barron's as a side guide, too. Thanks!

You really don’t need a textbook if you already have a study guide for the AP test. That said, you will learn more in-depth about psychology itself from the textbook even though the study book is more than enough to easily ace the AP test. So, it doesn’t really matter which textbook you get since you can get a 5 either way with the study guide. Anyway, there isn’t that much difference between the two editions. Short answer: yes, 8th instead of 9th is fine.

Okay, thanks! I did buy the book, but haven’t started studying yet… which leads to my other question. If you’re self-studying, about when should you start? The AP tests are in May and I don’t like to cram everything in, so I was assuming November, but wanted to see what everyone else thought.
