Self-Studying AP before IB?

So I'm in grade 10 right now, heading into IB next year. I self-studied the two Econs and Stats last year, got 5s. This year, I'm self-studying Bio and APES. I'm also taking grade 11 Academic Bio in school (to supplement my self-study). I planned to take IB Chemistry and Physics, but I'm really enjoying Bio now.

Would it be weird or redundant if I took the AP Bio exam now, then in IB took IB Bio? I'm starting to realize my math isn't as good as I would like it to be, and more programs seem to require Biology as opposed to Physics.

IB Physics HL = AP Physics B??/

Um, I have no idea. lol. I would be taking Chem HL and Physics/Bio SL anyways. I just want to know if it looks redundant to take AP Bio and then IB Bio.

It probably would be. Many people are under the impresion that IB>AP which really isn’t the case. Honestly, if your going to take IB Biology anyway, why waste your $86 on the AP exam?
