So I'm self-studing AP Chemistry, as the title indicates. As we draw ever closer to the exam, I'm worried that there's a specific style you need for the free-response questions in order to obtain a high score. Does anyone have any tips (possibly from an AP Chemistry course) that might help?

Thank you in advance.

Well, it depends on how much you know already. I’m currently studying it right now, but only focusing on my weak points because I was in Ap chem this year. I would suggest that you follow a review book like princeton review if you don’t have a good grasp on the concepts. If you were inn ap chem this year and you do understand the topics, then just focus on frqs by practicing the released ones on the collegeboard website. Also make sure you are are really good and equilibrium problems like ksp,ka, etc. and also at reactions as those are really important.

What should I focus on for the essay-type FRQ? My prep book does discuss this, but I’d like to hear it from someone —

Good luck self-studying AP Chem. The valedictorian at my school, who is going to Yale, got a 3 on that. And a 5 on every other AP exam.

My brother and sister both got 5’s self-studying. They used the Princeton review, so if that’s what you’re using then you should be fine.

^Lol, I guess my school looks pretty bad now…

JK, but I think AP Chem is a lot of work as there is so much to memorize

^
If you’re memorizing stuff in AP Chemistry, you’re doing it wrong.

On a different note, the exam is tomorrow! Good luck to everyone!
