Self-Studying AP US Gov, AP Macro, AP Micro, or AP Comparative Gov?

So far, I’ve been pretty involved in Social Studies/History courses because I’m really interested in going into Political Science. I’m in my junior year, and my top choice school is NYU.

I’ve taken all honors and AP courses offered at my school, and ended up with a 3.96 GPA to date (UW, out of 4.0), so I’m definitely into academic rigor and I really want to succeed in more AP Classes. Unfortunately, the school I’ve transferred to only has 5 periods in a day, and the honors classes are honestly just as difficult as the AP ones because they’re only half semesters.

Anyway, I really want to self-study one of the APs that I put above because so far I’ve only had a couple honors and one AP in Social Studies/History (Comparative Global Issues, Honors International Relations, AP US History, Comparative Religion, CP Western Civ- which I had to take because the honors class was full).

Do you guys think that any of these AP classes are doable? I’m obviously not planning on doing all of them or anything, I just wonder which would be most suitable. AP US Gov and Comparative Gov are both not offered at my school, so I feel like self-studying those would be most efficient. I could always take Micro or Macro next year.

Thanks!

They’re all doable.

Taking the class is almost always preferable to self studying.

Go for it. Just be advised that you should only self study for the right reasons. If you’re doing it because you have a genuine interest in the subject and/or you want to get some college credits, that’s great. If you’re doing it to impress colleges in the admissions process, you’re wasting your time; they’re not impressed.
