For bio Cliff notes is the way to go

In addition to taking 5 AP courses (I’m only taking 4 tests because AP Spanish 4 kills practically anyone not a native speaker :(), I’m also going to be self-studying Human Geography, Environmental Science, and Psychology.

I have the prep books for all of the self-study courses (Barrons, getting Smartypants for Env Sci today) and am about 1/2 of the way through each of them. Am I on a good track? I’d greatly appreciate any advice.

Even the “Director of Advanced Academics” in my district was surprised at first that someone was self-studying 3 AP exams.

Tests I’m taking:
[ul]
[] AP Biology
[] AP US History
[] AP Language and Composition
[] AP Computer Science A
[] AP Psychology
[] AP Environmental Science
[li] AP Human Geography[/li][/ul]

hi, everyone. I planned to self-study AP environmental Science and AP Human geography. I haven’t decided whether to take another AP course or not. what preparation books do you guys suggest me to buy for these? I have got barron’s and borron’s vocab cards, but I am not sure if those are enough or good for me to get 5 on all of them. Thx for helping me!

I’ve been studying for AP Gov and Statistics, but am hoping to self-study envi-sci. And I only need a 3 for my univ. is it too late to start cramming? (planning 2 hr.s a day until ap exam)

What years of high school did you take all these APs? (9th, 10th, etc.)
What study resources did you use? (e.g. Princeton Review books, Sparknotes website, etc.)
How long did it take to prepare?/Time management strategies?

I’m considering doing this as well, but with multiple AP exams (retakes) but I’m still uncertain…

Any suggestions for self-studying lit?
I’ve got lang down, what should i focus differently for this?

for lit, (especially the essay), make sure you know 3 or 4 solid pieces of literature like the back of your hand, they’ll come in handy.

what book do you guys recommend for human geography?

^Barrons is solid. Princeton Review is good, but more in depth. Most of the test is just vocab, it’s not really too hard.

the barron’s

ok, also for the psych and the environmental, what do you recommend?

the barron’s

Barron’s reads like a novel for psychology
according to my friend… :)

Do you guys just use the prep books to prepare for the tests? I know things like psychology are easy so only a prep book is probably fine, but for self-studying physics C what textbook would you guys suggest?

Wow thanks, a lot…im a freshman so im glad im seeing this now.

Im planning to take Environmental Science, World history, and Human Geography Self Study my Sophomore year.

Junior year, i will be taking these classes: Ap Bio, Ap Physics C, Ap Calc BC, Ap US History
For my junior year…should i consider any other APs…this year is full of my most important APs, so i dont want to overload…but i will be studying starting October…

I have 5 more APs senior year…too lazy to post.

It really depends on what you’d want to do. With those, you would have 13 APs (Physics C is 2) so you probably don’t need anymore, but it really depends on what you like and why you are doing them. That junior year is going to suck, so I wouldn’t suggest doing much self-study if any. Maybe psychology if you get bored, haha. Otherwise, as long as you have Chem your senior year, I would say you will have covered all the major ones.

I’m trying to take AP Calc BC next year as a senior. Are there any free online courses that could help me? I already took AB, so I think I’m in pretty good shape …

I would say don’t waste the money. If you know AB well, it’s easy to self-study the BC material. It’s mainly just applying AB concepts to more problems.

Hi, im taking chem this summer at a local CC, and i want to take AP immediately after, as in my sophomore year…so wat my self AP schedule looks like for sophomore year is:

AP Chem
AP Env. Chem
AP World
AP Euro
AP Human Geography

Is doubling up those histories and the chems a bad idea?..

^Env. Chem? I’ve never heard of that.

I know a lot of people who have done AP Euro and AP US in the same year and scored well on both exams. I wouldn’t recommend doing two histories though, if history isn’t your strength.
