Hi well im trying get a good anount of AP classes next year as much as i can handle pretty much. Here the schedual
1-english 3 AP
2-US history AP
3-Euro AP or Phycology AP/then Sociialogy AP ?
4-chemistry H
5-Algerbrah 2 H
6+7 health science H
( i cant take out the health sc. its required at my school, its a mentorship/intern type thing)

Heres the pickle im stuck in i really like euro hist but if i take pysch and soc. both half semesters and they add up to a year. i will have 4 ap classes/crudentials in total but if i stick to euro hist i will only have 3 total. So i thought since i do have strong passion for Euro hist maybe i cant self study and take the exam my self with out the class.-I read about some people who did self study and did fine. BUt i dont know how, like were to start, do i just start studying at home with princeton review euro AP and show up for the AP exam day ? and do i get extra pionts toward my gpa if i do good on the exam ? please if you took this route please help me out and explain

I'm in a psychology class at my school, but it's only a regular class and we're hardly covering anything so I just went and bought a review book for the AP exam. It's basically a self-study thing. I think it'll work pretty well for me. You won't get any points towards your GPA if you do well on the exam. It's only effect will be to (possibly) give you some college credit.

No definitely do not self study AP Euro there is waaay too much history. I self-studied AP Bio and that was pretty brutal but I managed a 4. I took an AP Euro class and we were always rushing. I don't think it would be wise unless you asked the AP teacher at your school to sort of mentor you.

^^^ very true, you should only self-study math (if that's your strong point) or psychology or human biography... don't self-study the history or science ones...they are ridiculous ('cept for Physics B, but Physics C is a different bunch of coconuts)

I self-studied for a month for AP Psych and I'm pretty sure I got a 5. So I would say do that if you're going to self-study one.

Is there any such thing as AP Sociology? What are you talking about? Judging by your spelling I'd say avoid the English APs haha just kidding.

I don't understand why everyone suggests self-studying for the Human Geography. It's not as easy as people make it out to be. It was one of my hardest classes and I never took the AP test :p

haha yea i misheard when someone there were taking both AP physcology and Socialogy so i asumed they were both AP classes and yea i just found out that soc. wasnt lol . O yea another, ill admit im not be strong in grammar but that doesnt mean i cant spell i was rushing to type the whole thing =P hahah just had to state somthing..

-So anyone self study for the phsyc. Ap exam ? and how did you think you did ? easy or hard

You're really smart... Tell me how in the world did you make a 5 in AP english? I studied so hard just to make a 3. What did you do? Can I see some sample writing. And to self study and pass APUSH... I think you're a genius! A literary genius, at least.

Alright, here is my advice. Do not decide about whether or not to take AP classes, treat them like they are all normal/honors classes. Most kids freak out about the AP exams... the truth is, if you take notes all year and do your homework no matter how much of a chore it is, it'll pay off towards the end of the year. Unfortunately, I say this to myself every year at the beginning of the year, neglect a three semesters of homework and pop up at the end. I took both AP Psych and AP World (a tad different from Euro) last year and got a respective 5 and 4 after reading Princeton reviews a week before the test.

STUDY TIPS
Join a sport: Contrary to common belief this actually forces you to go home and study after you get your excess energy out "a rolling stone gathers no moss" type thing.

Utilize your library: Great resource, alot of people fail to use and spend money on books.

No fear of AP's: the way I see it, they are normal classes. I'm not a gifted kid and I am taking 7 next year. I just decided to fill up any classes that I had left with a respective AP that I would be taking as an honors class anyway. They don't hurt your GPA, so why not try and learn as much as possible.

I'm also captain of both my wrestling and baseball teams. This is not to brag but it just goes to show that you are capable of handling the load, whether it be big or small. Push yourself now. You won't regret it when it comes time to apply for those big schools.

I DROPPED DOWN from IB to AP. AP is a lot of effin' work. That is, they give you a lot of homework. IB has less homework but it takes a lot more time and you have too many group projects to do.

if u have taken spanish regular or honors clases but not AP, u can probably self study for the language ap and do well. I took ap spanish literature and self studed for ap lang and i did well

Oasis, Next year I am going to be taking Physics B (in school) and was wondering if you would recommend that I take the Physics C test as well? Besides from that I am going to be self studying AP environmental and maybe US Gov't.

What would you say about taking Physics C after taking a Physics B class and what prep book would you recommend?

Also, what would you say about taking US gov't after taking comp govt.
