I was interested in self-studying a few APs this year. I will be a junior with no APs. Anyone know of any online classes or tips on how to self study for the APs. My school doesnt offer many APs. I was interested in Psych, Govt', History, and myabe Econ, and Literature. Please posts your comments

Go to apexlearning.com. Very good site. Make an account and see if your school participates. Many do.

I'm taking AP French and AP Psych. US Gov't & Pol, Macroecon, History, Microecon, and Lit are also available, among others. It's $350 per semester plus I know $100 for the Psych book.

It's nice you're taking the iniative. Good luck.

I self-studied AP European History my senior year. A received a great deal of help from a teacher who gave me notes and administered tests, but in order the do well on the AP test, it's really only necessary to find the proper books and read them diligently.

is it possible to see if my school participates on the apexlearning website itself? If so, how do I make an account because I do not see an option for registering on the website itself.

I typed in apexlearning.com and the login page came up. Below where you're supposed to type your username and password if you have one, it says "Register Here."

If it doesn't show up, I dunno what's up.

I'm self studying for Psych, Econ (both), and possibly art history.

I'm not going to do anything with a teacher, I already have an independent study on public transportation and so I don't want to bug any others. I'm just going to buy the Princeton Review books for those 3 and read them thoroughly during my free period (it'll be like a class).

Do an Amazon search.

I wanted to self study Psych and I am going to take a class in the county college close by...will that help me?

1) I checked and my school does participate ..Does that mean that my school will pay for the course and that I would not have to pay for it? Do schools usually set a limit to the number of courses they'll pay for? if so, approximately, whats the limit?

2) Does Apexlearning mail you notes for the whole course coz I find it easier to learn from paper? Are these notes comprehensive?

Thanks

AP Computer science is pretty easy to self study if you've done programming before.

what would everyone say is the best AP to take if you don't have a super great memory....Which AP test is the best for that? Also which SAT II?

Won't self studying for an Ap hurt you in your college app. because they'll think you only did it for the Ap test grade? If the ap course is offered in highschool are you better off taking the course at school?

well if the ap course is offered in ur high school and u still self study, it could be due to a scheduling conflict, which u can indicate on ur app. Self studying for ap's that are not offered at ur school will show passion, as u are seeking opportunities outside of school.

Nothing's wrong with doing it for the test grade, anyway. So what if you want to save some bucks in college, or maybe graduate early?
