Self Studying for 2011, anyone?

Self-studying is ridic. I don’t know how you guys pull it off with school in the midst of things. Wish y’all the best of luck.

@spongegar: From looking at the table of contents, Early Transcendental Functions is only sufficient for Calc AB. Look for something like “Calculus of a Single Variable” if you want to go through Calc BC as well.

You don’t need to take both Mechanics and E&M. Most colleges will give you some credit for just mechanics. (MIT requires both Physics C tests to get out of freshman-level mechanics, though. Which is kind of odd…)

^^ When do you plan to write the exam?

May 2011. (When else?)

You said something about starting Hubbard’s book in your senior year, so…

By the way, I’m a sophomore.

Rising junior.

Hopefully, I can finish Spivak first semester and Hubbard the second semester, but junior year is going to be really busy, especially with studying for AIME, USAMO, and USPhO…

wow… I’m just doing Music theory and art history and I’m slowly dieing.

This year I’m self-studying AP Envi Sci, AP Comp Gov, and AP Art History. I was considering AP Calc AB but I’m taking BC senior year so there truthfully is no point…

I’m self studying AP Bio, AP Envi Sci, AP Stats, AP Psych (maybe), AP Human Geo (maybe) and AP Comp Sci A (maybe).

I could never self-study Calc or Physics.

Self-studying Stats, possibly one of the two 'economics.

Do people actually do that? They’re kind of brave.

^I’m self-studying Calc BC and Physics C, and I don’t think I’m particularly brave. I’m just fairly decent at math. :/

(I self-studied Physics B last year as well.)

That’s understandable.

Self-studying Psychology and Microeconomics.

I hear that Psychology is the easiest exam, apparently all you have to do is memorize the Barron’s book, and its an automatic 5. I should do it just for to look good on the application.

I looked through the textbook for Physics C (Mechanics); it doesn’t look too hard. There’s a little calculus which is overlapped by the Calculus BC I’m taking. 2 in 1 (sort of).

My Self-Study:

Human Geography
Environmental Science
Physchology
