I'm going to be a senior and I just recently found out that i have to take an SAT II Subject test in the sciences. Bio is my favorite science, and so do you guys think that SAT II Bio can be self studied within 3 months? I'll be taking the November test.

^ Wrong forum, but if you have a basis in bio .. yes it is. If you have not taken bio, then no.

I self studied Bio for less than a week with a Barrons from 1998 (the previous test format) and got a score in the highest range. Nothing is impossible! Had 10 minutes at the end of the test to check my answers and to boggle at the word "rodent" :) as I didn't have an idea what kind of creature is that (i am an intern.)

I don't mean that you don't need to study - I would have if I had the time to. Take a test as soon as possible to see whether you have a problem with the time limit. Then just read through a good book (well, if you have a newer one) and see what you don't know (you may be surprised to see that you have studied at school much of what is written there). It works for me to underline in pencil the facts I don't know as this makes revising much more easy - I spare the time to read whole sections with highlighting single unfamiliar concepts in them. And if time presses you during the test just practice, practice, practice!

You can easily study for it if you have a good, solid background in biology. As long as you're somewhat familiar with organ and cell biology - like cellular respiration, photosynthesis, Central Dogma, neurons, digestive system, endocrine system, etc, it won't be that hard to study. If you're not familiar with any of those topics, make sure to cover them in detail. Also, Bio-E is a tad easier than Bio-M, as long as you're good with population biology and ecology, which is pretty much a no-brainer.

Wrong forum but yeah possible as long as you've had your basic Biology class.

don't stress it. pick up a princeton review book or something and study it. make it your bible for a good 2 weeks and you should be fine if you have good retention.

If you have taken AP Bio, then you are already pretty well prepared. I didn't really study for the sat II bio, but I still got a 780.
