Can anyone at Swarthmore comment on the semester exchange program with Pomona? If you have comments about the other college exchanges that would also be helpful. My D really likes Swarthmore and Pomona for varied reasons. She seems to be leaning towards Swarthmore but likes the idea of possibly attending Pomona for one semester to get "her fix." Also if you or someone you know has done that have you also done a study abroad for a different semester? How easy of a transition was it and what did you get out of it? Love the idea of this but is it really practical?

My daughter thought it might be something to consider, but, by the time junior year rolled around, she liked Swarthmore too much and found such a terrific study abroad program (New York > Buenos Aires > Beijing > Shanghai > Bangalore) that the idea never came up.

It is an attractive option, but I don’t get the sense that many people take advantage of it, in either direction.

Swarthmore students are no longer allowed to do the exchange with the CMCs due to an imbalance in exchange, actually.

Thank you both for the replies. My D has decided to ED to Swarthmore but was interested in considering that option. Ultimately she has been comparing all her colleges to Swarthmore and feels that is her best fit.
