I had a rough past few months, including last semester & this past summer's research internship. Unfortunately, it led me to "burning out" (these are the Dean of Wellness's words, not my own) in the middle of this semester - so I am grounded at home.

I have my option of "productive" hobbies that could occupy my time - finding an internship, studying for courses next semester, etc. - but actually think (for the first time) that I should participate in something that will relieve stress and prepare myself for future difficult situations.

I have a strong urge to travel (particularly to China, where my long-distance bf attends university). My parents are opposed to China, but perhaps this is only because I have not yet made any formal plans? I do think time in Taiwan might be a second-best scenario, as at least I could practice the language while acquiring exposure to that culture.

Any suggestions? BTW, I'm a junior engineering major at Harvey Mudd College. Thx
