Does anyone know what happens if you do not graduate in the alloted number of semesters? Do they really not allow you to continue? Someone told me you can transfer to part-time studies. Do part-time studies students have to choose their classes last (after full-time students)?

i THINK what happens is, if you find that you can’t graduate in 8 semesters, you have to request an extension for an additional semester. but, you can only get that extra semester if you need to finish classes for your 1 major - you can’t do this if you’re double majoring, or majoring with a minor.

Yes, you have to petition for an extra semester, and I’m pretty sure the major thing is right - this happened to a friend of mine who transferred to UNC as a junior, and UNC threatened to take away her minor. It ended up working out, but she had to go through a lot of red tape. They really want you gone after 8 semesters!

Yeah, the tuition and fees that each student pays doesn’t nearly cover the amount of money that it costs to educate and house sed student. Since you are technically costing UNC money just for being here, they don’t look too kindly upon you if you overstay your welcome.
