<p>Additionally, they seem pretty confident on their twitter account that results will be released THIS week. So I’m hoping for no more extensions.</p>

i really hope that it’s email problems… if i dont make it as a finalist then no biggy, i mean i reeeeaaallyy want it, but from what i can see we’re all qualified candidates. i’ll just be bummed if the emory email really was for the people who didnt make it to the next round, if that was the case they shouldve just told us already :l

<p>I think that out of everyone who’s posted here saying they got an email, at least 1 has to be a finalist? I just think it’s unlikely that out of everyone on here that there’s so many who didn’t make it, you know? I know that there’s going to be 1950 that don’t make it, but I’m just being hopeful.</p>
<p>I was thinking about this and I don’t think that they would send the Emory email to only people who weren’t finalists.<br>
They basically added another finalist position with the catch that this person attend Emory. So, if one of their finalists is going to Emory, they could move that person to the Emory spot, leaving an opening for one more finalist. They would then be able to turn another semifinalist into a finalist.<br>
If none of the finalists were attending Emory, they would need to pull from the pool of semifinalists to fill the Emory spot.
Long story short, I don’t think getting that email was a bad thing. 
Everyone will know the real story soon when the final results are announced - which will be soon.</p>
<p>The sensible thing to me would be them sending the email to everyone. That way, if a finalist wants to go to Emory, they automatically are guaranteed the $20,000 and their spot in the finals can be taken by another semi-finalist. I think those who have not received it is probably just due to email problems.</p>
<p>Just my thoughts! No need to worry, it’s done now. Just time to sit back and wait for results!</p>
<p>If they’ve chosen someone as a finalist, we dont know if they’ll demote them to semifinalist status and give them the money for Emory. </p>
<p>That would be great for that ex-finalist and a semifinalist, though.</p>

<p>Soo nervous!! well, whatever happens, we all made it pretty far, so that’s a pretty big step as is. Congratulations to everyone who made it this far! =] we’re all amazing candidates and should be happy for all of the amazing things we have done just for the sake of doing it rather than for the purpose of scholarship money. so good job everyone, and best of luck!! =]</p>

<p>Was anyone else really surprised when they were named a semi-finalist? Nobody else from my school made it and there’s definetly kids I consider to be stronger academically and have similar ECs/service as I do, so I was pretty surprised.</p>

<p>I know of one other person who made it as a semi-finalist in my school. I was pretty shocked knowing I became a semi-finalist, seeing as to how qualified others are at my school, so it was a huge honor to me. </p>

<p>Yes i was actually very surprised i got semi-finalist. i honestly forgot about the scholarship because ive been filling out so many. One of my very good friends got semi-finalists and she didnt even apply for finalist. It makes me wonder how many semi-finalists didnt do that second application.</p>
<p>man, that’s a big loss to her that she didn’t bother to fill out the 2nd half of the scholarship, then. i’d love to know afterwards how many applications they actually received back!</p>

<p>Then on the left bar click registration and see if you can register for the awards banquet. There is an option for coca cola scholar and I chose that one the clicked next and I could register with my name… Can others do this???</p>
