Semifinalist - Osp, To Go Or Not To Go

hey, what are you guys gonna do?
Do you think it’s worth it?

I just officially toured Cal last August, and my dad's an alumnus, so for me there's no real point in going because I won't learn anything profoundly new that will make or break my decision.

But I think it's worth it if you've never been to Cal. Go get a real "feel" for the campus!

Funny thing is I got both the invite to OSP and the invite to Cal Day Weekend with free airfare and all. I already said yes to Cal Day Weekend though. I didn't find out about OSP till afterwards.

i'm a semi-finalist, too, and I would like to go to OSP but i don't think my parents are willing to shell out 500 bucks for the airfare to cal (i'm from hawaii). and i think on the website, it said transportation will not be reimbursed or something. so oh well.

hey, shooot. I think I know you... You're from Punahou right? This is Teddy....I used to have homeroom with you in 8th grade in Mr. Edward's class.

not going! GOod luck you guys!

wait yeah is their any advantage to going to OSP or whatev? i've been to cal a bunch of times since my sis went there.. and, im probably going to cal day too since its during my spring break and im just gonna go w/ some friends who were also admitted and kick back

I kinda want to go to OSP because when I visited CAL a few months ago I didn't really see the dorms...plus I would miss two days of school, lol

sooooo...anyone gonna go? :)

I might, and probably will.

where are you coming from moreforyour$? air or drive?

well i think im driveing there and flying back as odd as that may sound.

certainly some variety then ;)

anyone else planning on registering besides me.

i definitely tried to get on 8 minutes after the site opened and they were already full. sucks.

so ridiculous!!! closed in the first 15 minutes.
that "monday to wednesday" window is such a joke.

Yay I'm going....I heard the 100 spaces were full after about 5 minutes...sucks for people who have school or wahtever at that time...they didn't even have a chance

My S is at his internship, so I signed him up. I happened to check the site at a few minutes before 3 p.m. and the form was on it. I typed it really fast, barely checked it and then hit submit. I knew that it was going to fill up really fast. 100 spots is not very many for that size application pool. I agree that they should have opened the site in the evening hours when more kids could have a fair chance. (I just happen to be off work this week so had the time to do it for S.)

arrrrgh, missed out too :(
