In anyones past experience, does it make a difference if you make a point to meet with your senator and congressmen to personally ask for a nomination.

Most senators and congressmen have a nominating committee to handle each academy. These tend to be blue and gold officer's, retired military or business men and women with a clear understanding on what it takes to succeed once you get in. These committees make the recomendations to the congressmen/senator and are generally followed. So while it can never hurt to have met your reps personally, I would suggest focusing your time on your essay and interview. These 2 items will make the biggest impact (along with an AWESOME MATH sat/act score.) If you have not gotten the Naval Academy Candidate Handbook, get one! This gave us the most useful and accurate information along with great practice interview questions.
