Send CV besides the activity list on their app?

i still don’t know the exact limit for the list on the online app ( on paper it’s on form 3, pg 2…and is about 1 page long…about 3000-4000 chars i’d have to guess)
but my cv wouldn’t really fit in there

So, should i use that space to detail my best 2-3-4 activities, and send a CV with everything, or are they expecting us to use only that space for our CV ?
Biggest problem is they want to also list any awards received, and i was pretty big on physics contests…so simply listing prizes would eat up much of the page)

either way, i think i’ll give them a call to make sure.
(though i don’t know why, i have a strong feeling they’ll say to not send anything extra)

I'm a bit confused about the EC doccument we attach too.

cmon, i know there's at least about 20 of you on this forum applying to brown. Any of you have any idea how the activities document works? anyone also sending a CV?

What's a CV?

I'm just writing "see attached" on their paper form and having them refer to my resume on the back. I'm doing the same for my essays.

I talked with an admissions rep and she told me to do that... and she gave me the impression that Brown actually likes extra materials.

My daughter was an applicant in the fall of 2003. She did not fill in her activities or awards/achievements on the application. She attached her Activity/Award resume which was three pages long. We had called Brown to check that if she was attaching a resume, did she also have to fill out that portion of the application and they said, "NO". Make sure to include on your resume everything that the application was asking for on the resume. My D now attends Brown.

thanks for that info ^^

It stands for curriculum vitae. It is similar to a resume, but it commonly used for academic, education, scientific, or research positions.

So, no 'extracurricular essay' if we are submitting a resume? I was considering submitting the resume and then writing an essay about the extracurric I felt mots passionate about.

wudanyan- I think you can do that. I asked a Brown rep if adding my common ap short essay to my resume about ECs would be beneficial, and she said it probably would be.

Thanks illinois:)

Yea I'm sending my resume too, but it doesn't include hours/week, etc, and it has a bunch of things. For the attached document though, I'm just writing 4 of my favorite types of ECs (research, volunteering, for example), and writing out all that info. In fact, this is very similar to the common app thing.

Shobhit2006, could you elaborate on what you mean by "writing out all that info"?

like dates participated, hours/week, etc

I'm getting an impression that some people are writing paragraphs about their activities - I only have a list + basic numbers (hours/week, weeks/year, # years, positions, etc...)

Are we supposed to be writing ABOUT the activities as well?

Brown says : "Do what you think is best"

fantastic.

Not only that, but they sign their e-mails: ", The Admissions Board".
