What would you do?

Hi,

please give me some honest advice:
I got a 760 on Maths II and a 700 on Physics. I'm applying to MIT.
Apart from my SAT scores my application isn't that bad (got a bunch of extracurricular activities and my essays are alright).

What would you do? I retake Maths and Physics in January anyway. Would you send in the 760 and 700 scores as well as the January scores? Or would you just send in the January scores? I know I can do better and I don't want put my application into a bad light just because of my SAT scores.

Also even though MIT says that they only consider the highest score, I guess it's better if you only send in one good score and not one bad score and then a better score. BTW. will they have a look at my application again after the JAN scores? I mean deadline is January 1st. And the SAT is in mid-January... I just don't want to be sorted out before they see my January SATs...

THANKS a lot!

MIT only takes the highest score, so you could send your current scores, in case your January scores are lower (you might have to pay a fee though). Your 760 isn’t that bad (could be better, oh well), but the 700 is a little weak. Unless your SAT/ACT scores are abnormally low, MIT doesn’t really place a whole lot of weight on them.

I would agree with PP and send these scores and if your scores in January are higher send those as well.

Thank you very much for your replies! So MIT (and the other colleges) actually wait for the January scores to arrive?
