Hello, I’m a junior that’s going to take the old 2400 SAT this October, December and next year January.
It says that I can send my scores to four colleges for free before i take the test or nine days after i take the test.
Can I send my sat scores to a college as a junior?? I haven’t decided to apply to anywhere for certain, but i don’t want to pay later on to send the sat scores.
When I send it, do they just keep my score in mind, and wait until i actually apply as a senior to look at them?
If I didn’t do as well but send it anyway, will it have a drastic effect on my admission chances?
Will a higher score sent later to the same college help raise my chances or will the lower sat score sent to the college forever negatively affect my admission chances?
Thanks in advance for your responses and helpful comments!
Yes, you can send the scores as a Junior, and the colleges will hold onto them until you apply. If you have a higher score later that you send them, they will use the higher score (whether it is SAT or ACT).
@mommyrocks is right, but why are you taking it 3 times in 3 months? You will spend more on that than sending scores in a year’s time. You will barely have one set of scores back before you take it again, so no real chance to work on weak spots.
I know everybody is in a panic about the new test, but sending 3 test scores as a junior - and perhaps another set or more as a senior- can end up being counterproductive. If you are that worried about the new SAT, what about the ACT?
