Sending a letter to your first choice school

I really want to get into this school, but they've raised the gpa since last year, and i fall a bit under it. Someone told me sending an email or a letter to the admissions there about how it is your first choice school will show major interest in going there. I have the admissions counselor who I am planning on sending the letter too, I was just wondering if this is a good idea. Thanks

As long as you don’t over do the letter that your sending it is fine. Don’t make it sound like you’ll give your babies to go to the school because you won’t.

I personally would not send the letter to the school. Instead, make contact with the regional admissions officer for your area. Make your position clear with them since they are your “point person”. That way, they don’t feel like you’re going over their head… and they also won’t feel blindsided.

your app already contains letters to the school. They are called “essays”. Use these to explain why you are so interested in attending
