“Requests for sending ACT scores submitted after 12 noon (Central Time), Friday, December 29, through Tuesday, January 2, will not be processed until Wednesday, January 3. If you have an upcoming deadline, you may want to contact your college or scholarship agency to make arrangements due to the additional processing time. Thank you.”
I only just sent my ACT score to all my schools now. Is this a problem? Is there anything I can do?
If anyone knows about certain schools that will flat-out reject me for this, or ones that will definitely still consider me, please let me know. I am applying to very selective schools (most of them fall within top 20).
No no I think you’re A-ok, I did the same thing. I freaked out for a good couple minutes but I googled it and most schools don’t even begin to look at your app until late Feb or something. Don’t worry, you got this friend!
It should be ok. I did the same thing and called a few of the universities I applied to to see if they would still accept my scores, and they said it is fine.
All of them told me that the application deadline is only the deadline to submit the Common App and writing supplements, and additional materials can arrive after the deadline without any penalty.
Most colleges accept scores that arrive after the application deadline. There are some that specifaclly require that scores be in their hands by the regular admission application deadline, but even then you may still be safe because common process for regular admission, when you have failed to timely submit some supporting materials such as test scores, is for the college, about late January to early Feb, to send you a notice that your application is incomplete and outstanding materials must be submitted promptly if you want to be considered for admission; in other words you get a second chance to saubmit missing materials like test scores.
