Hi everyone,

When I call College Board and ask them to send my AP scores to Berkeley, do they know where to send them to waive the freshman writing requirement? How do I go about getting these scores sent? I have all my information and the telephone number for College Board, but do I need any information for Berkeley?

Thank you :)

It just gets sent to the normal place for AP credits, where it would be processed sometime in Fall to set up the units you earned. It is after the point in which you register for classes (and often after you actually begin your first semester).

You have to register for classes based on what you know will be credited even though on paper you haven’t satisfied the requirements yet. For example, you might have an AP score that waives both R&C courses as well as AWPE, but that isn’t set up in the system by CalSO when you are registering. Therefore, you just ignore the R&C requirements, sign up for other classes you need and want, and sometime later in 2012, your status will change to reflect that you have satisfied the AWPE and R&C requirements.

I do suggest you bring your copies of any score reports, to avoid wasting any time with an advisor during CalSO discussing courses you will not have to take to earn your degree.

@rider730 but I have scores from last year that satisfy requirements…
