After completing a FAFSA form, do I just submit? Or do I have to send 1 to each college that I apply to. And is it by mail or online?

Online…enter the FAFSA code for each school and it will make the data available for the school to upload. IIRC, you can only enter 10 school codes on FAFSA. If you applied to more than 10, you’ll have to wait for the FAFSA filing to process (you’ll get an email that your SAR is available), then go in and update the FAFSA with the rest of the schools and resubmit. Rinse and repeat, if necessary:)

You can’t submit this until Jan 1, 2011 if you are applying for aid for the 2011-2012 school year.

Please don’t spam the forum. Four posts a minute apart on essentially the same topic?

Checking past posts…this poster ALWAYS posts their one question multiple times. One question was posted on 10 different college forums…same question.

Do you think we have to be at our computers at the stroke of midnight filing the FAFSA?
Do you think they will be available at the stroke of midnight. I was told last year that the school gave out all it’s aid to those that filed before me and I thought I was prompt.

thumper, at first I thought his screen wasn’t refreshing and/or he just hit the post button twice. That’s annoying, but now I see the actual titles are different and the 10 question posts are on completely separate forums so it’s deliberate! Btw, I noticed you provided the same answer on both of tonight’s “CSS” threads…feeding the ■■■■■■ now?:)

Terry, when did you file last year? I doubt it’s necessary to file at the stroke of midnight…but if you’re ready, why not get it over with?!

Terry, you should do your FAFSA as soon as reasonably possible. The deadline for returning students at many schools is later than for incoming freshmen. Regardless…NO I don’t think you need to be there at the stroke of midnight…just have the stuff ready and do it during the day…or two that follow.
