College downloaded my FAFSA?

How do you know if a college has downloaded your FAFSA?
They only allow you to select 10 colleges, but i have some more to send it to. I realized that a few colleges have earlier deadlines than the others, so i wanted to delete a few and add new ones. How do i go about this?

Wait until you get the email from FAFSA saying your first ten schools were “processed”. At that point, you can delete and add the rest of your schools. Your colleges may take a LONG time to upload the information from the FAFSA but if it’s a processed FAFSA, you can amend it to make the changes and the already processed one will be available for the colleges on THAT one.

Someone here will correct me if I’m wrong about this!!

Since I know thumper didn’t have to file a FAFSA for her kids this year (lucky dog), I’ll add that this is what the email you’re looking for will say (or something very similar - this is the parent version of the email):

I would recommend that you actually print out the pdf summary of the SAR and check it over rather carefully to make sure it’s correct. If so, delete all of the old school codes and add the new ones before you resubmit. Remember to repeat the entire process for all schools still on your list after your parent’s tax filing is complete.

Actually…lucky me didn’t fill out a FAFSA last year either as DD was a college senior then!!

You all will get there too…it’s a GREAT feeling!!!

Hi all,
thank you for the posts and clarifications.
it was helpful.
we have added the additional colleges to the FAFSA

Echo that! I’m done with it too.

I’m kinda jealous though. Seems that the gov has simplified the form. Shucks. Maybe I’ll just do it again anyway so that I can do it more easily this time. Kidding.
