Sending in ACT scores?

I took the ACT twice (well I'm going to) Once with the essay, once without. Would I have to send in 2 seperate score reports so they see the better composite score of the one without the essay, and the high essay score of the one with?

I don't want to have to send in two score reports to every college I apply to because it would double the cost It would cost 8$ for one report and 16$ for 2 (for those of you who don't know basic math....)

My school's transcript includes ACT scores on it. Is there anyway the college could go off of those instead of the official report, and only require the official ones if they accept me?

I will call the Admissions office tommorow, but I figured I should try here first.

The likelihood is that the colleges are only going to review official score reports with your application. Wait until you get back your second ACT score, and if it is better than the first (or includes the essay while the first one did not,) send it along with the first. Unfortunately, you will have to pay the $8.00 twice, which is one of the drawbacks of the ACT. The plus side is that unlike the SAT, you can choose whether you want to hold back a set of scores.

Once you are (hopefully) accepted, the schools will no longer care about your ACT/SAT scores.
