I know I have a lot of top schools there, but a lot of counselors have said I have one of the best chances in the school.
I’ll chance back!

Your EC’s are amazing! Your GPA is also competitive for those top schools, and your ACT and Subject tests are great. I’d say you have a great shot at Tufts, Cornell, PSU, Carnegie Mellon, UMich, and Georgia Tech. You have a really good shot at the rest of the schools but there’s no guarantee for schools like Harvard and Yale just because they’re so crazy competitive.
Do you have SAT scores? Also is your high school regularly sending students to top schools? And how big is your graduating class? Sorry to pry but that information could affect your chances.

@rosiem714 I have a 2050 SAT, so I’m not sending it. My class has just under 300 kids, but our school has only sent three or four kids to top schools in the past two years, but I think that’s because my area is one of the poorest in the state so not a lot of kids have the money to apply to a lot of schools.

All of that stuff works to your advantage. Being from a poor area, you’ll get “zip-coded” so they’ll assume your school isn’t helping or coaching you on your application. I’m from a poor area too, and I’ve been told my chances are higher because they want to see kids from poor areas (no matter how much your family makes) succeed. It would help if you applied ED, just so the school knows you’re committed, but if you don’t have a clear top choice, I still think your EC’s, AP’s, and grades will give you a great shot:) Good luck!

@rosiem714 Thank you so much!

I would add Lehigh and Pitt to the list and take MIT and CMU off. CS at CMU has single digit acceptance rates.

Also if engineering is your goal ABET accreditation is the criteria you want, ivies have other strengths.

Penn asks for all the test scores. I’m in the same problem- ACT is way better SAT is average. What do we do
