My January SATs have been a big improvement from the scores I sent to colleges.

New (old, Jan 2008)
CR 770 (710)
M 790 (760)
W 780, MC80, E9 (660, MC65, E9)
Total 2340 (2130)

Do you think the following colleges will receive my scores in time for consideration? (I selected the colleges when I registered, so the scores should be 'on the way' to them by now.)

Brown
Carleton
Dartmouth
Johns Hopkins
Stanford
Williams (especially worrying, since they use paper--not Internet--scores)

when a school says that they "accept january scores," that means without a doubt they will take into consideration your (higher) january scores, right? Or will it still in a way be "too late"?

Yeah. I guess that is what they would mean when they say they accept January scores. The admissions people I spoke to were quite clear about this. They said they would look at everything in our file.

Your new scores will definitely be considered. Most colleges don't even seriously start looking at their applications till late Feb or early March (in the meantime they are being sorted and what not). I think you're in good shape.
