Okay, so maybe I'm a little paranoid after being rejected from my first choice school, but I just want to double check: it IS okay to send recommendations, transcripts, and be interviewed BEFORE I have officially submitted an application to a school, correct? Most of the schools I'm applying to RD have Jan.1 or a little later deadlines, but I've already sent transcripts and recommendations as I'm polishing up my essays, and I'm scheduled to have an interview with a school a few days before the application deadline.
I know that schools say anything you send them will be put into your "file," so is this file created by submitting the actual application, or by any materials you send?
Someone put my mind at ease! Thank you! :)

Bump? Any help would be appreciated!

The offices handle stuff like this every day. Your docs didn’t and won’t get lost.

Common sense: what would you do if you were the office manager?

Good luck to you.

If you are sending recs early, helpful to ask your letter writer to include your Common App ID # or Date of Birth, especially if you have a popularly first + last name. But still, not a big deal to send materials early!
