I took the SAT in November and scored a 2360, with these scores:

800CR/800M/760W (72MC 11E)

I realize the 2360 converts to around a 35 on the ACT (and if the 760 is disregarded like at some schools, then it would be a 36) but my ACT score makes up for my lack in English:

Should I just send my SAT, or should I send both? Would sending the 34 prove to be detrimental to my application or would it help by making up for the 760 in English?

I do not think the ACT score will hurt you, that is damn impressive. Send both. But if you only want to send one, send the SAT! Either way, so jealous of your scores.

My scores are decent, but my GPA is pretty low, so it puts me out of the running for a lot of colleges that I would have liked to attend. So you think I should send both? How about sending both to colleges that dont look at the writing section of the SAT?

Oh you’ve got to be kidding me, a 34 on the ACT and a 2360 on the SAT are both 99+ percentile, FANTASTIC scores; don’t sell yourself short. If I were you I would send both because hey, I spent enough time to take the tests, might as well let the colleges know that I did great on both.

Hm you’re right. I had another question-- if I put both scores on the common app, do all colleges see those scores or only until I send the official reports?

Oh yeah and it sucks about the writing section. Whatever. Stuff happens for a reason I guess.

Send only the SAT. The art of communication and persuasion is subtle, but less is almost always more. Why clutter or draw the eye away from a 1600/2360?

^Agreed. Writing is the least regarded of the three subjects. No need to send your less impressive ACT just to recover those measly 40 writing points.

Hm. Alright, I’ll do that then. Thanks for the information. Congrats on UChicago by the way! I’ve seen you around the forums a lot so I thought I would say it haha.
