Hello guys, I would be grateful if someone could answer my question.

I am a Sophomore student, about to complete year 10 in high school. Next year I am going to take the SAT I and SAT II, my question is when should I take it? And if I take it in like May/June and send my score to for example Mit, Princeton...etc, would they keep that score when I apply in November/December next year or do I have to take it again?

Also, after taking the tests in summer, if I get a high score and want to apply to other colleges I didn't listed on my send list, how could I send my score to those colleges or I would have to take it again in November/December?

Thanks guys, your help is much appreciated.

A lot of juniors I know, including myself, took the SAT this March, and plan on taking Subject Tests in June (May works too, but the date is right between AP testing). This allows time for retesting in the later months, though is contingent on how much testing you plan on doing.

The colleges will keep and review all of your scores. Even if you don’t send them after you take the test, when you apply, most look at the entire score history anyway. After you use the four free score sends, you’ll have to pay for additional reports, which is done at the time you apply.

Colleges begin an application file for you as soon as they receive anything that goes in such a file such as test scores and the file will still be there when you apply as a senior.

You can send scores by either designating a college in your application for a test to automatically receive scores upon release or, alternatively, order them sent anytime after scores come out. However, to send scores after they come out requires you to pay an additional fee per college.

I’ll suggest to prepare for the Sat(and ACT if desired) in the summer and get a feel on your expected score range by fall. Then, try to achive that by next Mar/Apr and focus on AP and SAT II in May/June. If you think there is room for significant improvement for ACT/SAT, try again in October. After that, you should focus on school applications.

Hey guys, thanks for the answers. So does this mean that the school I choose to send my SAT scores in May/June to will keep my scores when/if I apply to those schools by the end of that year?
