Sending sat's after deadline

Hello, I recently sent in my sat scores for Penn state and the application deadline is 8 days from now. When you send your sat scores it says it will take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks to reach that college. Is it fine if my sat scores get there late?

What about for NJIT, Stevens institute, and Rowan?

Thanks

Those colleges have electronic delivery of scores from College Board – CB places them in an online account the college has with CB, with the result that time of transmission by CB is also the time of official receipt by the college, though the college may thereafter take its time in going into its file, downloading the scores, and matching them to application files. The 1 to 2 weeks is CB’s possible time it will take to process your order and transmit scores, but the usual time of sending is faster than that, averaging more in the three to four business day range after receipt of an order.

Most colleges accept scores that arrive after the app deadline. Penn State is different simply because it has a rolling app deadline. If you get everything in by Nov 30, you get a decison by Jan 31, if you get everything in by December 31, you get a decison by February 28, etc. until the actual Jan 31 deadline, although you can even apply thereafter. Thus if your scores don’t arrive until after Nov 30, you will be part of the second batch.

@Sidvas - CB took 3.5 weeks to send my SAT scores in October, that too after a lot of constant communication via social media. YMMV.
I am not sure about PSU, poster above has given clear details about it. Rest of the colleges, check their websites. I am sure they have details about till when they accept scores etc - that are usually beyond your control.

@drusba I sent my scores to on the 22nd and its supposed to be in by the 30th. So do you think 8 days is enough time to get it in before early action deadlines close?

I cannot defnitely say. My best guess is that CB will transmit the scores before the end of the month if it is performing at its usual pace but only CB can confirm.

Contact each school’s admission department and ask.
