Hi,

What am I actually suppose to do after sending CSS and Fafsa? My friend said IDOC will send me an e-mail a letter requesting a copy of my tax documents yet I haven't received one. So, do I wait for them? Or sent it myself? Also...I'm not sure but another friend said I need to send it to collegeboard or something. I'm pretty confused right now.

Also, do I need to send a copy of my tax document to each school? Or does some schools not need it?

Thank You

If IDOC hasn't sent you an email or notified you to send the tax documents to them then the schools you applied to do not use IDOC. You need to go on the specific financial aid websites of the schools to see what their requirements are. However most schools do usually request the following for you to mail/fax to them:

2007 Parents Tax Return
2007 Student(yours) Tax Return (If applicable or if your independent)
2007 Parents W-2 Forms (If you are a dependent student)
2007 Student(yours) W-2 Forms
Verification Worksheet (If applicable)
Non-Tax Filer's Statement (If applicable)

Go to the Financial Aid page of your school's web site.
There should be explicit instructions about what documents they want you to send. Check to see what address you should send them to. Sometimes it's the admissions office and sometimes you send it to the financial aid office. Be sure to write on all documents your name and either SSN or number the school has given you after you applied, so they can match the documents to your file.

Do not wait! Most schools want the documents this week. Send priority mail or certified.

Hope this helps.

Yes it did help

But it seems a lot of my school are saying stuff like "If asked to verified..." so it seems that I may need to wait until they ask me.

The schools I applied to all wanted tax returns. If yours do not want them right now, that is fine. Call the FA office if you are unsure about what to do.
