Sending TOEFL iBT Scores

I am taking my TOEFL iBT on 12th July. But the application process does not start till October for early decisions. ETS provides 4 free slots to send the scores to universities. Can I choose those colleges now and apply to them later or do I have to pay the expensive 18 dollars fee again in October or December?

You can send them now. Most colleges receive scores electronically these days, so your scores won’t get lost in an archive (unlike paper score reports). In addition, most colleges seem to give applicants an online account where they can check the status of their application. Come fall, you will be able to see if colleges have received your scores + connected them to your application. If not, you can always pay for another score report later.

Thanks for the info
