Sending Transcripts? Can I Send them Myself?

I live in california and it took around 2 weeks to get my transcript from my school to McGill.
Does McGill take transcripts directly from the applicant. It is an Official Transcript, so could i send it myself with 2 day shipping and they would still evaluate my Midyears?

it's highly frowned down upon that applicants send their transcripts, but if your that freaked out about the process I imagine a transcript in an envelope with a signed signed should be good enough (have your gc call the office to let them know, just in case; call them yourself to find out if that's even acceptable, while you're at it).

go to your school's guidance office and tell them that mcgill emailed you saying they just need your mid year report to make a decision within next few days and would accept it through fax.

I spoke to the secretary in my guidance office and she already had things to fax out and said that she would fax my transcript over as well.

She did it and Mcgill had it up on minerva within 10 minutes

So in order to get guidance to do things for you lie to them.

Wait, you can fax them? What number 2?

Yeah they take the faxes, make sure its faxed from school building

Number i found is "Fax: 514-398-4193" its from bottom of undergraduate admissions webpage

Are you sure? I just sent an email to admissions asking if transcripts could be faxed and this was their reply:
"To be considered official, all transcripts and test scores must be sent directly to McGill by the issuing institution (i.e. the appropriate office at your school, the College Board, the IBO, the Cambridge Examination Board, etc.) and should be in signed, sealed envelopes. Recommendation letters (if required) must be submitted in writing directly from the person issuing the letter, preferably on letterhead. Final test results and grades must be forwarded to McGill, when available, by the applicable administrative body."

Also, today I had my counselor send an unofficial with a note. Basically, my midterm grades are final, but they are not added to the "official" transcript until next friday, so my counselor sent my "unofficial" ones which have my midterm grades, but arent "the real deal" and he attached a note that said they are official grades and that an official transcript would be sent friday as soon as they are available.

Do you think they will review my app next week?

Oh, perhaps you are right. Just checked minerva.
It still says further review required, but that is probably because the admissions isnt working right now. But it does say they recieved them. So i am hoping that if they are open tommorow they will look at it.

Here is what it says under my requirements met
Requirements
Requirement Received Note
High School Transcript/Records Dec 06, 2007 Granite Bay High School
Mid yr/second quarter grades Jan 25, 2008
SAT I and II or ACT Scores Nov 29, 2007 Test Date 01-OCT-2007

My school sent official transcripts cause my grades ended mid year on the 19th of december.

But don't hope for a decision anytime next week, my midyear got there last friday and nothing has changed since besides them having date recieved next to all requirements.

I'm hoping round first week of February they start going through complete applications and i get a decision.

The site says expect first results to start coming on the 31st, so there is always some possibility.

thanks, i really haven't looked on mcgill site, i'd just been checking Minerva once a day during my free period at school... hoping to hear some good news and make it a great day at school!!!!

Wait, so does urs say "under review" cause mine doesnt but I think it is because my teacher probably faxed them late afternoon california time, which is 3 hrs behind. So it says received, but it still says "further review required".

I'll be checkin everyday too. I only have 4 periods per semester at my school, and right now I have first off, and second period as a teachers aid (easy peezy, do nothin). So really my school day starts at 1:55 McGill time, so i can check whenever. hehe.

nah my status still says "further review required"

Wait, this is all I am supposed to have under my requirements section right?
CollegeSeeker221, can you tell me if this is what your requirements section looks like?
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/1659/92457347ky5.png

Hopefully if there is a difference, the only difference is SATs, cause I didnt send 1s or 2s. I sent the ACT only, instead.
