Hello! This may sound like a dumb question, I’m the first one in my family to really go to college and I’m a bit confused. When CSUs are asking to send transcripts, they want the classes we are taking this Spring 2018 included? Or the ones up until Fall 2017?
If you have been accepted, they usually want your final transcript meaning Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 grades so you would send after your graduate. If they are asking for your 7th semester transcript, they want to see the grades you have received through Fall 2017. For most CSU’s, do not send transcripts until you are accepted and enroll. There are exceptions so which CSU’s are asking for transcripts?
Forgot to ask if you are a Transfer or Freshman applicant, since the answer could change.
.
Thanks for replying. Right now, I haven’t been accepted to any of the CSUs yet. The schools that are asking so far are Sacramento, East Bay, and Chico they’re asking for transcripts by February. Sacramento needs it by the 26th of this month. For Sacramento, I found this under their “I Have Applied Section” It says “You are required to submit your official transcripts with all college coursework completed to date as well as any courses currently in progress from ALL colleges you have attended by January 26 (for Fall) or September 14 (for Spring). Even if you withdrew from a course or college, or believe the credits are not applicable, you must submit the transcript.” I’m taking classes at my cc this Spring but it doesn’t start till the 22nd. I’m confused if it needs to include my Spring 2018 classes, which I can’t get a transcript for until the 23rd.
I am a transfer student.
You just send your transcripts which include up to the Fall 2017 grades and there should be a supplemental where you would list your in-progress/planned courses for Spring 2018.
So, I wouldn’t need to include classes that I’m taking this Spring? Just send official transcripts that include everything up to Fall 2017. What is a supplemental? I’m sorry if I’m asking too many questions.
Yes, just send your Transcripts through Fall 2018. Some Cal States and some impacted majors require a supplemental application to be submitted also. You should have this information on your CSU portals and in your “To Do List”.
Ah okay. Thank you! If a CSU says “Please request for an official transcript with your current and planned courses to be sent.” That would mean I would have to include Spring 2018 right?
Yes, if they want planned courses that would include Spring 2018.
Okay, thank you!
At my school the spring courses appear on the transcript once you register for them. Assuming it works the same at other CCCs, only send the transcripts once you are registered. Check your unofficial transcipt in your student portal to see what would get sent.
I wish my CC did it that way. My cc will show spring courses once the first day of spring semester begins.
