Senior applying to UCLA with no subject tests.

I am a senior applying to UCLA for business/Econ. I am not taking any SAT subject tests, but I have taken 6 ap tests. I took micro and macro Econ and scored a 5 and a 4. Will it hurt me to not have subject tests?

UCLA has no recommendations for SAT subject tests for your major, however, many UCLA applicants will have taken some SAT subject tests which could make you less competitive. It is in your best interest to submit the best possible application, so SAT subject tests could help your chances.

Not sure if it was engineering-specific, but the local admissions rep for our area said that if it says the subject tests are recommended, to treat that as required. He didn’t explicitly say those words, but made it clear that that was the case.
