Please help:

My daughter an IB student at her high school. She registered last February for Honors Pre-Calculus. However, her high school doesn't finalize its scheduling until July. On July 28th, we were informed by her GC that the Pre-Cal class didn't fit into her schedule. In fact, NO upper level math class would work.

She has already fulfilled her 4 math credits required for graduation. If we had been notified earlier in the summer - we would have had take the class at our local community college. She was forced to take an IB Art & Design class instead.

She is taking a full IB course load this year:
IB History
IB English
IB French 5
IB Theory of Knowledge
IB Art & Design
IB Biology - double period with labs

My question is should we address this snafu in the "Additional Information" section of the Common App.

Our feeling is yes because this situation was not my daughter's fault. She can only take the classes available to her to take. Her guidance counselor says the happens very rarely where the school cannot accommadate certain students and unfortunately, it was my D this time.

I know schools like to see Math the senior year, but ours is an unusual case.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
