<p>Is it important (in terms of college admissions) that I take the hardest courses I can senior year? </p>
<p>Right now, im considering either taking all "easy" APs (Envi sci, music theory, pysocology, etc.) or going for the most intense classes (Physics C, Spanish Lit., Chem).</p>
<p>As far as courseload is concerned, i'm willing to work hard and I think i can hand a very rigorous courseload. But, I don't to be taking a bunch of "hard" APs over easier ones if it would only help me marginally in college admissions.</p>
<p>Definitely. But really, it all depends on where you’re going. If you’re heading somewhere other than an Ivy or a top tier school(UCLA, USC, etc.), it doesn’t matter as much, and that’s the situation where you should just take the easier AP’s. But if you’re actually aiming for an Ivy or top tier(as most on cc are), you definitely need to take the harder AP’s. If you can, take both the easy and hard ones! because 3 AP classes isn’t as impressive as it once was.
And fyi, music theory is VERY difficult. unless you have a solid musical background in theory, it’ll be a struggle, especially if you want a 5.</p>
<p>Yes. Colleges want to see that you are taking the most rigorous courses available to you. They know that senior year is the year for slacking. Take advantage of some of that “slack time” as some people envision senior year and take a bunch of APs. It’ll look good on your application.</p>

<p>Now i have a pretty good idea of what i’m going to take (Chemistry, physics C, gov/econ, english lit, euro history)</p>
<p>The only thing i’m still deciding on is whether i should take Environmental Science or Spanish Literature. Which one do colleges see as being more rigorous? (I’m not a native spanish speaker)</p>
<p>And since i’m already taking 6 other difficult APs, would it matter as much if my last class was an “easy” AP (i dont want to give myself unnecessary work)</p>
