Senior courseload might look like im slacking off... want advice

I'm a junior right now and i plan on applying to some very competitive colleges (Pomona, Dartmouth, etc.). I have been taking a "very rigorous" courseload but next year there are some classes I am going to take that colleges would consider less difficult to get a good grade in (specifically pyschology instead of some AP class like chemistry). I am not trying to be lazy. I am just more interested in psychology than a class like AP chem. i am afraid these schools will see my courseload and assume i was trying to slack off a little bit in senior year. How do i show these schools that I'm not lazy and i am just trying to pursue my interests? Is there some place i can say this in my apps?

AP psych a option?

nope just psychology

coooooooooooool.... this thread has been helpful haha

what kind of major are you thinking of?? if its non-science, or if youre wanting a psych major, id say taking psych is fine..but if youre trying to get into an engineering, or science related major..i would say go with the chem

Why don't you take the psych class at a jc?

I think you'll be okay. I never took an AP class in my high school career (we only offered 3). I took some community college classes instead because they were what I was interested in. I figured they could tell from the subject matter, and I was sure to explain this in my interview so they didn't think I was slacking. I guess it depends on what kind of high school you go to, too.
