Senior Grades and Senioritis

So I tried my very best to avoid Senioritis...all the way until exam week. I've failed 3 of my 5 exams. And now have 3 Cs for the semester when before I had all As and Bs. Anyone else?

I stopped taking notes completely in class and divert my attention to other things. Let’s see the effect on my grades…

First Quarter:

AP Chemistry: 85
AP English Literature: 92
AP Macro/Micro Economics: 93
AP Calculus AB/BC: 92
Jazz Band: 99
Gym: 98

Second Quarter:

AP Chemistry: 77 (-8)
AP English Literature: 93 (+1)
AP Macro/Micro Economics: 82 (-11)
AP Calculus AB/BC: 93 (+1)
Jazz Band: 94 (-5)
Gym: 85 (-14)

As you can see, I’m am clearly afflicted by senioritis. Unsurprisingly, my grades in AP Literature and AP calculus have not dropped and in fact went up, most likely because those classes don’t require notes at all, if you are a good writer and can remember concepts and formulas.

I’m so screwed. What colleges have you applied to?

Not so sure yet. I have finals next week but I have no motivation to study for them. However, if my grades go down, my dad will kill me…

I am so happy other CCers are with me on this. I’m sooooo unmotivated. And I don’t know where I’m going to college yet, so if I get wait listed or something at a school I still have to send my grades. Hopefully I’ll be accepted in February/March and I can avoid that…

I’m not going to bother taking AP exams either… the credit doesnt even transfer so why pay the money and waste the time studying…

This really sucks and colleges make it so much worse by asking for your 1st semester grades. Honestly, it is very hard to give a crap anymore. Hopefully I get into Penn St. They don’t require any senior grades!!

You should have motivation. I had bad senioritis but then about a week before my finals i realized that, in all truth, i had nothing better to do during the week than study for the exams. I mean, I could sit around and watch movies all day, but I figured that a) the midyear report is very important and b) I can do that during second semester?

Yeah, I’m with you there. I ended up with just one B+ on Econ, and I plan on going into engineering, so I doubt it’ll be detrimental. Now is worse than ever, second semester.
And my school requires I take the AP exams! So dumb. I mean I have to pay 80+ dollars to sit through a threeish hour long test to find out I wont get college credit. Not worth it at all.

I am actually doing better in my senior year, strangely. 1 B in AP Lit. The rest are As.

I’m taking too many classes I don’t care about aka AP Psychology. Replay on majoring in engineering

Ughh I just don’t care any more, it’s so hard to get homework done.
Luckily we had finals before the break, so my first semester grades are finalized.

I’m so there. I haven’t been taking notes, doing homework (especially for precalc and ap stats, but luckily it isn’t handed in every day) and I’m afraid of how bad I’m going to do on exams next week.

I’ve gotten accepted to a few schools (none of which are at the top of my list). And will find out my ed2 decision February 15. I just pray I get accepted then so I won’t have to send first semester grades to other places.

I realised I do not have to take AP Bio and AP English exam because they will not transfer over, so that’s some stress off my shoulders.

Last semester I had only one B, but this semester I am fine with B’s in most classes, just no Cs!

Ah freaking out for college… my 1st quarter grades were pretty solid, but 2nd quarter is an absolute train wreck. We don’t have our grades back yet but it’s pretty easy to estimate for most of them. I am literally just praying for a B- in enviro. If I get <80 I literally don’t know what I’m going to do…
