So last year I moved to the United States and I had to adjust and it took a lot out of me and I feel like my grades suffered because of this. I took IB/AP classes.
I'm doing much better this year and I'm hoping for all A's and 1 B in 6 IB Classes and 1 Honors for the semester. I'm applying RD and I know that I have to send in semester grades anyways but will my good grades senior year overshadow the bad ones from junior year? I'm sending off my application soon.

Depends. Were the bad grades in rigorous courses? I think then it’s understandable… Or you could even have your guidance counselor or you yourself make note of it if they’re really horrendous. How bad are they? Like Fs, Ds, etc?

Either way, I wouldn’t worry too much. It is what it is, and if you still have a decent GPA, good grades in all your senior classes, and good test scores, ecs, etc, you should have a good shot.

I had three C’s, one in a AP, Honor and a CP. I got A’s and one B in my other classes. The CP was just me not being able to catch up with the math because I was previously under a curriculum that did the math classes differently. I’m taking IB Math this year and I should get an A for the semester.

I really don’t think that’s too bad so I wouldn’t worry. You can send in an explanation if you really feel it’s necessary, but I would just leave it be if I were you. If you get an A in IB math I think that would really help mitigate the C you got in your other math class.

Best of luck to you!
