I was wondering how heavily colleges look at your senior year. This doesnt mean i'm slacking off, on the contrary its turning out to be my best year. My hopes are they take senior grades into account quite heavily. I'm sure it depends on the type of institution. Im applying to CSU's, UC's, and privates. I'm almost positive that senior grades dont matter in CSU admission, but what about the rest. My other question is how heavily do they consider freshmen year? I know CSU's and UC's dont but the privates? (my frosh year was absoultely embarssing)

I don't think senior grades can help you a whole lot unless it was a drastic improvement, in which case your counselor should send in a little note saying how well you've done and how this shows your potential.

As for freshman year, they consider it, but not heavily. The most important times are 10th through early 12th, it seems.

For both CSU and UC admissions:

Do not get a 'D' in any A-G class. For some of the more prestigious UC's, even a 'C' might be risky.
