Next year, I'm screwed because the only math classes I have left is Calculus AB and those easy business math. I was planning to take Calculus BC, but the school won't allow it due to the stupid budget crisis. I don't want to take those easy business classes because they're no impressive to colleges and they would be a total waste of time. I was wondering how it would affect me with colleges if I take Calculus AB since I self-studied and took the exam and ace it with a 5 my sophomore year.

I'm planning to go to a middle-tier or high-tier schools, such as UC Davis and Cornell, respectively.

And I do not want to take a community college math class since it would conflict the workload of my other ap classes next year and I would feel exhausted to go to a college class after school.

You “self studied” calc and got a 5…? You should definitely not be taking it as a senior. I would try to go to a C.C. and rearrange your schedule. Because it will be much better to take Calc 2 than Business math.

EDIT: Ok, I didn’t notice it would conflict with AP’s. Umm idk. Why did you self study for Calc as a sophomore?! what did you take this year?

If you still remember most of the stuff from AB, there’s very little extra info for BC. You might self study that. You won’t be able to show schools your score while apps are being considered, but easy classes are incredibly frustrating and should be avoided at all costs.

I took AP Calculus AB sophomore year because my friend encouraged me since I was studying it to prepare for the class my junior year and I want to earn the AP Scholar Award as a sophomore.

I’m taking AP Stats. I was supposed to take Calculus AB this year, but the Calc teacher switched me out because I have a 5 and made me take Calculus II at the community college. Taking community college along with like 3 AP classes (APUSH, AP Physics B, and AP Stats just for one term) was horrible, especially with APUSH since I have to do like notes on 4 chapters of the American Pageant every week. I did drop out because I couldn’t balance the workload.
