Senior project?

I'm a senior (Class of 2010) in high school. Today, I met with my counselor, and she suggested I quickly do a senior project. My last semester of high school, I did remarkably well the other four years so I only need two classes for graduation.

I know she meant it in fun, but I don't even know or feel the desire for anything more. I want to take all that I've worked so hard for and receive my diploma already. I'll be registering for college on April 1 and looking forward to turning seventeen on April 13.

Can anybody tell me what a senior project even is?

Thanks in advance.

Senior Project is easy and fun because you can literally do it on any topic you want. The whole point is for it to be a freeform project so you can choose something you have a genuine interest in.

Some examples:

I’m doing mine on Game Theory and if it translates well to real-life scenarios.

Friend of mine is doing it on how different lliving with ADD is by living with a bunch of different people at school who have ADD for a few days.

Another friend of mine is doing his on freestyle skiing, (where he basically ********s the research paper part) and then for his actual project part goes skiing every weekend and then films himself doing tricks. Then he’s going to compile those clips into a movie and present it to the class.

Another friend is doing on how the world came to have different languages instead of just one universal language and what language means.

Last year someone went sky diving and documented their experiences.

So as you can see you can do something very technical and academic, or something really out there like an activity you’ve always wanted to try.

In our school, we have to do an English Senior thesis and an Economics term paper. >_>"

Thank you for the answers, but I won’t be doing it.

Apparently, this is optional. If I don’t receive credit, I wouldn’t do it.
