Senior Schedule Dilemma...

So here is what I’m thinking:
AP Calc
Global Lit (H)
AP Spanish
Gender Studies (H)
AP Physics C: Mechanics

Band (CP)
Yoga (CP)

And I’m having a lot of problems choosing classes.
ENGLISH: I’ve been strong in english for pretty much all of HS and I feel like I should take AP Lit. I have the only AP Lit teacher as my english teacher and she thinks highly of me. Problem is, everyone I’ve talked to who has taken AP lit hated the class because they said the teacher doesn’t teach (not true) and she’s biased while grading essays (true, but it works in my favor). I’m also kind of tired of American Literature and would like to take something else that isn’t focused on America and all its problems. AP lang is offered but my english teacher, who is teaching AP lang, said it would be a waste of time as its AP lit minus the lit and I can’t use it to fufill english requirements for senior year.

PHYSICS: I guess I’m kinda worried that I’ll die taking this class? Math is definitely not my easiest subject, but I’m doing all right (B average), and have an overall A- in APES.

SPANISH: kinda worried about taking potentially 4 APs, if i take AP lit. I like Spanish, but I’m not sure if I want to take AP. The teacher is awful, focused on making class participation a contest for points, doesn’t teach. I’ve had her, so I know she’s a sucky teacher. However, the class according to many is the same difficulty level as honors spanish iv, which I’m taking rn and pretty much acing. Definitely want to take a foreign lang next year but not sure if I should take AP/H.

GENDER STUDIES: not sure if I should drop this class??? It’s strongly recommended @ my school to take 4 yrs of history/social science, and I chose this class. I am kind of interested but I don’t really care. I’m also thinking of continuing to take art studio ii, so if I was going to do that I would drop this class and take that.

I’m dead set on taking AP calc, I suffered through 3 years of honors math, I’m not stopping now. Band I want to take bc I dropped it this year and missed the band family. Yoga is a required class.

MISC INFO THAT MAY HELP?:
Umm potential careers/interests include: Astronomy/Astrophysics, App/Game development (big maybe here, rough experience with CS), international relations or law, art/animation (as a minor)

My stats are kind of low: 4.4/5.3 GPA weighted, 1260 PSAT (690 english, 570 math) and probably a lower sat because I’m pretty sure I didn’t do well on it in March. I’m definitely planning on retaking it to get at least into the 1300s, but ideally I would want a 1400 or higher.

Any advice? Sorry for any rambling.

APES is the easiest AP science. AP Physics C is the hardest. In addition, it helps if you had Calc AB before you take Physics C and with a B in precalculus you’d have a huge uphill climb for Physics C. I would recommend you take AP Physics 1, not AP physics C.
Everything else is fine.

If you are going to take honors english, then don’t take a CP social studies. Either take AP Lit (if you will major in humanities in college) or tahe Honors English but AP Econ or AP Psych.

@MYOS1634 I’d love to take AP physics 1 but only AP Physics C: Mechanics is offered. I’ll consider taking honors physics though.

@bopper will consider that! I think I’m taking ap lit next year so yeah!! I could look into ap psych (no ap econ @ my school) but I’m sure the class has filled up by now

For a student with a B in pre-calculus who’s not taken calculus yet, (and based on what you said who’s not taken the first physics classes in the sequence) physics C is the 2nd or 3rd level of physics), Physics honors would make more sense than physics C.
