Senior Schedule

HELP!! I need help with my senior schedule I am planning to take these classes:
AP Calculus AB
AP English Literature
Government
Leadership
AP Computer Science
Spanish 3
Basketball

I can ONLY choose 6 please help me make a decision that will attract CAL Tech the most.

Calculus, Comp Sci, definately. Beyond that, go with your interests, I'd say.

I agree completely. More physics would be great if you haven't exhausted all the requirements, and if there is a way to do BC instead of AB, do that. But if not, your current schedule is fine.

heyyyy... just because I can...

Calculus II & III [college... I guess that's what I take after AB]
Physics [@ college, no AP at my school]
Chemistry [", whatever's after AP (hopefully the post-secondary counselor will let me)]
English Composition class
1 year of photography (or another art class)

So... how does that sound for a senior year? Should I take more? Does not taking AP Lit matter to Caltech? It looks like I'm slacking to me, but hopefully it's alright? I don't know what else to take. There's an astronomy class here, would that look good [I want to major in it]? Also... uhm... there might be some sort of minimum amount of classes I need to take at the high school [I have no idea]. So any suggestions?

oatmeal, if you're thinking of majoring in astro/astronomy, definately take the class, otherwise, I see no issues.

unless the class is so bad that even A.P. in Science or college advisor does not recommend it.

Maybe it's not the case with your school, but i've heard that in many HS's across the nation the astronomy (elective) class is really, really bad, and that it does not teach you anything new.

I think that the best way to show your passion for astronomy is to do a research in the field.

it's actually a new class for next year, so I really have no idea. the thing that seems like it might hint at nothing impressive in the class is the fact that it's open to 9th-12th grade students. actually, the course description sounded pretty basic. I don't know, I feel like I should take more but I don't know what. any ideas or is that good enough??
