Senior transfer??

Some people can be overly sensitive when hearing things of a negative nature. I know, people are crazy ;). It’s the curse we face on internet forums: the inflection our voices would add to our statements is lost. I just like to make sure people know nothing I say is personal. I honestly want to see people succeed, but I have learned it’s better to know the potential negative outcome as well.

I do really hope these classes will not cause any problems for you. It does vary from UC to UC how excessive units (excluding all CC units, of course) are handled. As much as I am a solid believer in ignorance of the rules not being an excuse, I know this unit cap can be tricky and the past can really come back to haunt you because of some of the rather strict rules different UCs have (for example, you would be senior status at UCSC if the four-year units counted).

Please do come back and post the answer you learn! It is always nice to learn new bits of information… and even better will be if it is good news!

I have come to this thread after hours of wandering in cc,

I, too, have same concern as gattaca88: exceeding units for transfer to Cal, harmful or not?

As you wrote, “I transferred with 180+ quarter units (all from CCCs) and I was just fine,” I hope it should be just fine, but I think I may earn 180+ quater units from CCC for my computer science major too.

Did you transfer to UCB as a computer science major? Could you tell us more about your stats prior to transfer?

Thank you in advance!!
