Hey all!
I'm a high school senior, average of a 3.1. Looking to get into either Sacramento State or a private Christian.
I passed AP Lang last year with an A- and got a 3 on the exam (the prompts were bad for me), and AP Chem and got a 1 (the teacher was horrible).
I bake, manage my own business and website, have a job, and am in Drama, needless to say, I'm always on the go for something.

Right now, my schedule is:
AP Lit
TA for Culinary
AP Calc AB
Econ/Gov CP

I'm considering taking AP Stats, too. It would be a 0 period before Lit. Would this be too much? I've been thinking about it for a while... I've heard mixed reviews for Stats, so I'm not sure. School starts Monday, so I need to tell the teacher asap. What do you guys think?

@Smarty1201: Pretty sure the “average” kid takes 1 or 2 APs their entire high school career. Try not to be jaded by CC. =P
On-topic: What is your history in math courses? If you consistently get good grades, I don’t think AP Stat would be a stretch.

@Smarty1201- It’s fine. I know I’m taking very few classes, but it’s because I need to get out at lunch to get to my job. Most of my friends are taking like 5 APs, so yeah, in comparison to them, I know it’s hardly anything haha.

@FastNeutrino- I’ve gotten B’s every year. I took PreCal Honors last year. I’ve heard mixed reviews about AP Stats, and that scares me a bit. The teacher seems okay… a bit of an airhead lol. Do you know much about Stats? Like which math class it might relate most to? I know you can take it pretty early on…

@SFshia: What kind of business is it? I think it’s very cool that you can handle everything (business and all) because it takes a lot to own a business!!

3 is definitely manageable. I’m taking 4 this year and know several people who are taking 2 or 3. However, I would not recommend having your whole schedule being AP.

That seems pretty manageable. You could probably fit Stats in, but be realistic about your study habits and other activities. It would be better to ace 3 tests than to get overwhelmed and not do as well.

Three seems rather reasonable (admittedly I am only take two due to a school policy, but I am self-studying two more). Also AP Stats is known for being one of the easiest APs.

@ArtsyGirl13: I’ve heard that too, but at the same time I heard that it can be really hard. I think it’s one of those classes where you either get it or you don’t. :D

@Foodlover001 I do food stuff! Specialty cakes and things, cake pops, cookies, it’s fun! I want to have my own shop when I’m old enough Check out my site: [CakeSpaz: Home](http://www.CakeSpaz.com) and like my fb page! [Cake Spaz | Facebook](CakeSpaz) :D

Thanks for all the inputs, guys. I’ll probably try and take it if there’s room :)

I went on to your website and liked it on Facebook!!! That’s so cool!! I think what you have is enough considering the fact that you own and manage your business and website!!! I would totally buy your cakes!!! :)

I went on your website and your Up movie themed cake is my absolute favorite!! they all look awesome though! I think if you want to take it, then go and try for it, but make sure you won’t feel drained every day. You’re already taking a math, and I think with your extracurriculars, it isn’t necessary for you to take it and go to an early class (if you would have to wake up earlier for it, would you be alright with that?) Of course, the decision is totally up to you. You could definitely do it if you really wanted it- just make sure you would be happy with the choice!

It depends on how hard APs at your school. at my brother’s friend’s school, pretty much everyone who’s going to college is in honors classes. “honors” and AP classes are meaningless. he’s taking 6 APs, but he’s actually not that intelligent.

my school has grade deflation, and “honors” classes are only for the top 20% of the class. So at my school AP classes are insane. Hardly anyone get’s A’s, but almost everyone gets 5 on the exams, because they teach more than the exam.

if you’re at a school like my brother’s friends school, then totally go for the extra AP class. However, if you were a school like my school, i wouldn’t recommend it.

only you know your school well enough to make the decision. AP classes are not the same at every school.
