I have a few questions about which classes to take next year for my senior year. I have a ranged it down to a few that I have to choose from.
The classes I have to take next year are:
Advanced Marketing (to complete my pathway)
Pre Calculus (honors)
British literature (honors)
(A social studies which is one of my questions below)
(Optional but Another question below)
So I have to take a type of social studies next year. Right now I am in Honors US history but next year I was thinking about taking AP Economics if it isn’t too hard. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how it is? What type of math is it? etc. The one they offer at my school is 1 semester Macro 1 semester micro.
I was also thinking of taking another AP science. I am taking honors physics and Honors Chemistry this year so technically I am done with all my sciences this year. But as a GPA boost I am wanting to take another science. I was thinking AP Physics 1 (no calc knowledge needed at that point), AP Chemistry since I am doing so well in Honors at the moment and I find it interesting. Or something like AP Biology. (Took the regular biology my sophomore year)
So as you see I only have 5 classes my senior year and I am planning on interning next year at my uncles business as part of Work based learning program at my school which I will also receive grades in.
Any Feedback and knowledge you can offer is greatly appreciated.
AP Economics would not use any calculus. They are not considered super difficult. You may be able to get college credit if you do well on the AP tests.
If you are thinking about any STEM major, I would take one of the AP Sciences.
Right now my plan is to major in Business/marketing but that can change. I am going to take a AP science for sure (My favorite subject), I just don’t have to technically credits wise. I do have to have another social studies which is why I would like to take AP Economics. and for the literature. I have to get my last credit for it and literature is not my strong point in all honesty. I don’t exactly want brit lit, So I can possibly change it for another literature.
Take an Honors English class, because improving your reading/writing will be invaluable for college.
Don’t you have 6 periods?
No matter what: I think you should take AP Stats to prepare for College Stats (a good marketing major will take 3-4 statistics classes in college) as well as AP Econ since it interests you and relates to your major.
Well We can have a total of 7, but I guess it would be counted at 6 periods including Work based learning (we do get a grade for it) where I will be interning for my uncles company which focuses on advertising and such.
I could possibly take a dual enrollment class for Statistics depending on my schedule.
