Hi everyone,

I'm a current junior in high school and its about time to choose our Senior Year classes!
I have four of them set in stone, but I'm iffy about the next one. I've been browsing College Confidential and everyone seems to be taking at least 5 classes (at my school 5 core classes is the most you can take). However, when deciding on courses I have to keep in mind that I have A LOT of extra curriculars. I'm president of the school, Head Prefect, run our radio station, editor of newspaper and our literary magazine, four year varsity sport captain and tons of volunteering hours.
So when I think about what classes I'm taking, i don't want to overwhelm myself and I also don't want the teachers at my school to think that I'm trying to push myself too hard.

Here's whats set in stone:
AP English
AP Art History
AP Calc AB
Latin 5 Honors (Taking the AP)

(electives)
Radio 3: Management
Newspaper

I'm considering taking AP Econ as my fifth class. But I don't actually NEED to have a fifth class. Also, its very hard at my school to take 5 honors or AP classes, I would have to petition for it for quite a while. For Econ, the teacher at my school is not very good and even the smartest kids in the senior class don't get an A in it. I'm planning on applying ED to Amherst College this fall. Do I try and take 5 AP/Honors classes, when I know Econ is not going to be easy?

Thank you so much for any help!
