Senior Year COUNTS!

Hey fellas,

Well I was under the false conception that senior years don't count. I've heard it from my friends, I've heard it on this site, and I've read it on numerous other sources. However, I decided to do some real research.

Thank you Dean J for clarifying this issue. For all of you that are begining to feel senioritis DONT. You've worked hard the past three years of highschool. Make it last until after the semester ends. Even then you should try to keep good grades but can lighten up a little. But remember your senior year grades do count and if you do poorly it will affect your chances at colleges.

Cases where Sr. grades are NOT reviewed as criteria for admissions decision:

University of California 9 campus system
Cal State 23 campus system
Early Decision schools
Early Action schools
Rolling Admissions schools

However, at least two of the UCs, UCLA and Berkeley, and most Early Decision and Early Actions committees look at the STRENGTH of your Sr. year coursework and draw inferences from that in making admissions decisions.

Lastly, all schools admit applicants “provisionally” or “conditionally”, based upon the satsifactory completetion of Sr. year, in both conduct and grades. Grades are then used for recission purposes.

This thread is pretty much a duplicate thread to the one in the above link.

Grades are not necessarily part of the college selection process, but your choice of classes is.
